The 2022 G20 Bali summit will take place in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday, November 15, and Wednesday, November 16. It will be the 17th meeting of the Group of Twenty. Here’s what operators with missions to Bali need to know.

Ngurah Rai International Airport

  • IATA code: DPS
  • ICAO code: WADD
  • Coordinates: S08-44.9 / E115-10.2
  • Elevation: 14 ft / 4 m
  • Magnetic variation: 01E
  • Fuel types: Avgas, Jet

Operational Information

  • The main airport in Bali, DPS will operate 24 hours a day during G20 (from November 10-20 approximately)
  • During this period, all aircraft will not be allowed to stay overnight at DPS, except the main aircraft of Heads of State
  • Back-up aircraft shall reposition to alternate airports including SUB, YIA, LOP, UPG, and CGK
  • The best alternative for overnight parking is WARR/SUB, around 30-45 mins from DPS
  • Slots are required and generally available for private flights
  • Landing permits, flight clearances, and diplomatic clearance are mandatory for any ad hoc flight
  • Diplomatic clearance for government flights must be arranged through the related embassy
  • The lead time to arrange permits is 24 hours once the completed documents are received
  • DPS will have limited operations for non-VIP flights during the G20 period
  • SUB airport is the best alternative considering its capacity and the distance from DPS
  • LOP and YIA are rather restricted for wide-body aircraft
