Jordan has reopened its borders to international visitors.
The National Centre for Security and Crisis Management gave the go-ahead for international flights to resume at Queen Alia International Airport starting from September 8.
International scheduled flights can now operate to and from Jordan with the prior coordination of flight slots with the airport authority.
Entry categories
There are different requirements depending on the visitor’s country of origin, these fall into three group categories:
Group A (Green countries): Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Lithuania, Malaysia, Morocco, Poland, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, and Turkey.
Group B (Yellow countries): Algeria, Austria, Germany, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, and the UAE.
Group C (Red countries): Bahrain, Belgium, France, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, UK, Ukraine, USA, Egypt, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
Health screening
Visitors to Jordan are required to undergo different levels of screening and quarantine depending on whether they fall into the Groups A, B, or C.
Group A requirements:
For Group A or other passengers who have resided in any of the Group A countries for the past 14 days.

- They must carry a PCR test with a negative result completed within 72 hours before their departure
- Be prepared to undergo another PCR test as this is required on arrival

- Visitors must have health insurance to cover COVID-19 treatment in Jordan
Note: Any passenger that gives falsified or incorrect information will be subject to a fine 10,000 JOD
Group B requirements:
Passengers arriving from countries contained in Group B will be required to follow all the previous steps of Group A, in addition to undergoing a mandatory institutional quarantine for 7 days on arrival, followed by 7 days at home.
Group C requirements:
Passengers arriving from countries contained in Group C will be required to follow all the previous steps of Group A, in addition to undergoing a mandatory institutional quarantine for 7 days on arrival, followed by 7 days at home wearing an electronic tracking bracelet.
Crew restrictions
- Layovers are only permitted in hotels accepted by the Jordan Ministry of Health for institutional quarantine
- No PCR tests are required on arrival
- Crew health declaration forms must be completed and submitted to the airport authority
Permit approval
Landing permit requests should be submitted 72 hours prior to the flight date.

- Certificate of Airworthiness (COFA)
- Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC)
- Air Operating Certificate (AOC)
- Noise Certificate
- Radio License
- Insurance Certificate
- Hull Insurance Certificate
- Gendec with full details of crew and passengers for both In and Out sectors
- Passenger passport copies
- Passenger manifest with full details
- Residence, work permit and commercial registry for investors for non-Jordanian passengers
- The exact reason of visiting Jordan for non-Jordanian passengers
- Medical report, Hospital details (for ambulance flights)
- Consignor, consignee, nature of CGO and AWB’s (for cargo flights)
