Flying to Seychelles:  Seychelles will resume international commercial flights from August 1. Here’s what you need to know.

Seychelles Airport has been opening gradually since June 1, as of now, it is accepting certain chartered and private jet operations.

But from August 1st, it will open for commercial airlines and tourists from the following approved countries (lists below).

Visitors from the 17 approved low-risk countries will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours ahead of travel.

If a PCR test is not available, they will need to submit to a rapid antigen test.

Visitors flying from medium-risk countries are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours ahead of their travel date.

Low-risk countries

Belgium; China; Cyprus; Estonia; Finland; Iceland; Hungary; Ireland; Japan; Latvia; Lithuania; Malta; Mauritius; Netherlands; New Zealand; Norway

Medium risk countries

France; Austria; Canada; Cuba; Czech Republic; Denmark; Germany; Greece; Italy; Luxembourg; Malaysia; Monaco; Singapore; Slovakia; Slovenia; South Korea; Spain; Sri Lanka; Switzerland; UAE

Health screening

  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to boarding the flight is mandatory for all visitors
  • Passengers from medium risk countries are expected to conduct a PCR test within 72 hours ahead of travel
  • Passengers from low-risk countries are required to submit to an antigen test within 72 hours ahead of travel
  • Airlines and operators should not board any passengers or crew displaying symptoms of COVID-19
  • Any passenger who arrives without the necessary health documentation will be refused entry and returned to the aircraft
  • Entry screening will be done on arrival and begin with the completion of the health check form before symptomatic checks and temperature scanning
  • Visitors may be required to undergo a rapid antigen test
  • All visitors must provide travel insurance coverage

During your stay…

  • Visitors are encouraged to book their accommodation and leisure activities through licensed tourism service providers certified by the Public Health Authority
  • After disembarkation, visitors will be required to provide proof of accommodation in an approved establishment
  • There will be daily monitoring in accommodation facilities for the first 14 days after the arrival of a guest by designated Health and Safety officers
  • Local service providers are expected to intensify their hygiene measures in their premises and while providing their services to ensure the safety of visitors and are required to keep a trackable movement log of their guests for the first 14 days of their trip

Until August 1… 

The only flights permitted until August 1 are:

  • Private jets with passengers destined for authorized resorts, yachts, or residential facilities
  • Chartered passenger flights with passengers from low-risk countries published by the Department of Health
  • Chartered cargo flights that may carry passengers under permission (eg patients, returning Seychellois, students who completed their studies)
  • Prior permission must be obtained from the Public Health Commissioner (PHC) by the aircraft operator
  • Once permission from PHC has been obtained then the landing permit can be applied through the CAA
