Here, UAS’ South American team shares its insight on health requirements, permits, and airports in Argentina and Brazil.

Argentina

Health requirements

  • PCR tests are required for passengers. Crew required PCR tests at Mendoza (SAME) only
  • All passengers and crew must fill in a health form before arrival and departure
  • All passengers and crew must be fully vaccinated
  • Passengers and crew must have health insurance with COVID coverage
  • Pilots listed on the GENDEC with a valid license do not need visa
  • Passengers from the EU, USA, Canada, Australia, and Japan do not require visas

Permits

  • Overflight permits are not required. Be sure to add aircraft operator information to the flight plan
  • Landing permits are not required: Be sure to have all aircraft and crew docs on board
  • Landing permits are required for aircraft B737 or larger. The lead time is 10 days

Airports of Entry

  • SAEZ – Ezeiza: No PPR, no slots, GAT very handy and expensive
  • SADF – San Fernando: no PPR, no slots, CIQ at GA Main Terminal
  • SABE – Aeroparque: GA is not allowed, only airlines and government flights
  • SAWH – Ushuaia and SAWC – Calafate: parking is limited

Brazil

Health requirements

  • RT-PCR or Antigen tests are accepted for passengers and crew
  • All passengers and crew must fill in a health form
  • All passengers and crew must be fully vaccinated
  • Pilots listed on the GENDEC with a valid license do not need visa
  • Passengers from the EU, USA, Canada, Australia, and Japan do not require visas

Permits

  • Overflight permit is required. The lead time is two hours
  • Landing permit for 1 stop is required. The lead time is two hours
  • Landing for more than two stops requires an Avanac is required. The lead time is 48 hours
  • Overflight and landing: Avanac C is required for aircraft with more than 30 seats. The lead time is 10 days
  • Avoem is required for diplomatic flights

Airports of Entry

  • SBBR – Brasilia: No PPR, no slots
  • SBGL – Rio de Janeiro: No PPR, no slots, CIQ at FBO on request
  • SBGR – Guarulhos: Requires PCR, no slots, A-CDM operation, GAT on request
  • SBKP – Campinas: Requires PPR, no slots, no GAT, parking more reasonable than SBGR
  • SBSP – São Paulo: under process of becoming an AOE
