Immigration
Non-EU Passengers
A passport and a visa are required.
Passports and passport replacing documents issued more than ten years prior to the date of travel will not be accepted.
With a Schengen visa, visitors are required to hold proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay and documents required for their next destination.
Non-EU Crew
A passport and a General Declaration Form are required.
Crew must wear uniforms and the duration of stay must be in accordance with the General Declaration.

Visitors not holding return/onward tickets could be refused entry.
EU Passengers
A valid passport/country ID is required.
No visa is required.

Customs
Import
Free import to passengers arriving with goods purchased within the EU that are intended for personal use only:
Alcoholic beverages: 10 liters of spirits over 22% and ethyl alcohol, 20 liters of alcoholic beverages less than 22%, 90 liters of wine (no more than 60 liters of sparkling wine), 110 liters of beer.
Free import to passengers arriving from non-EU Member States (including the Canary Islands, the Channel Islands, and other similar territories):
Tobacco products (for passengers aged 17 and over) 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos (max. 3g each) or 50 cigars or 250g of smoking tobacco or a proportional mix of these products.
Alcoholic beverages (for passengers aged 17 and over) 1 liter of spirits over 22% volume or 2 liters of spirits or aperitifs made of wine or similar beverages less than 22% volume/ sparkling wines/ liqueur wines or a proportional mix of these products. Also, 4 liters of still wine and 16 liters of beer.

Export
Free export is allowed for the following:
1 liter of spirits, 1 liter of wine and 5 liters of beer
500 cigarettes or 100 cigars or 500 grams of tobacco
It is prohibited to export stamps, objects of precious metals or such of museum value, any kind of food products, and medicines beyond personal use. A provision of foodstuff for personal use in the value of HUF 100 is permitted.
Baggage Clearance
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Hungary.
Airport Embarkation Tax
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
Currency
Local currency (Hungarian Forint-HUF) and foreign currencies: no restrictions if arriving from or traveling to another EU Member State.
If arriving directly from or traveling to a country outside the EU: amounts exceeding EUR 10,000 or over or the equivalent in another currency (incl. banker’s draft and cheques of any kind) must be declared.
