Role Overview

UAS is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to help us grow our international trip support services. The BDM will focus on generating leads, driving revenue growth and building a solid pipeline of business within companies in the aviation sector. This position plays a crucial role in driving growth and expanding UAS’ market presence as well as pushing our customer-centric vision forward.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Generation & Business Development:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the general and commercial aviation markets.
• Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and expand UAS’ reach.
• Ensure consistent revenue growth and meet/exceed annual sales targets set by the line manager.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive arena within the aviation sector.
• Negotiate and secure contracts, ensuring favorable contract terms for UAS.

Account Management & Engagement:

• Develop and implement comprehensive account plans, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company objectives.
• Ensure high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction by promptly addressing issues and maintaining regular contact.

Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management:

• Collaborate with internal marketing and account teams to build a robust sales pipeline through cold calls, networking events, emails, and other lead generation activities.
• Maximize existing revenue streams and identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
• Maintain and manage the sales pipeline through CRM tools, providing regular updates on potential deals and status.

Customer-Centric Approach:

• Engage with customers to understand their unique requirements and translate them into tailored service offerings and commercial proposals.
• Coordinate and manage customer communications and follow-up throughout the sales cycle, ensuring a smooth and successful sales process.
• Close sales deals efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

Industry Representation:

• Represent UAS as an evangelist in client meetings, industry panels, conferences, and air shows.
• Build brand awareness and promote UAS’ value proposition to key industry players and decision-makers.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment of sales strategies with business objectives.
• Provide feedback to internal teams on market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to influence product/service enhancements.

Target Achievement:

• Meet or exceed yearly revenue targets and other KPIs as assigned by the line manager.
• Proactively monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to ensure successful achievement of goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in revenue generation, business development, or account management within aviation services, specifically in trip support.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Aviation Management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of aviation services, market trends, and challenges.
• Familiarity with aviation operations and regulations.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with experience representing the company at industry events.
• Proven customer service and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering tailored solutions that meet client needs.
• Proven ability to generate leads, qualify prospects and close deals.
• Results-driven and ability to build long-term relationships and keep clients happy.
