Hong Kong has revised its list of high-risk countries and added Romania this month.

Now, the high-risk list is as follows:

  • Bangladesh
  • Ethiopia
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Nepal
  • Pakistan
  • The Philippines
  • South Africa
  • Kazakhstan
  • United States
  • The United Kingdom & British Overseas Territories
  • France
  • Russia
  • Belgium
  • Turkey
  • Romania

Any traveler with recent travel history outside China, Macau, and Taiwan in the past 14 days before their arrival must also provide proof of hotel reservations in Hong Kong for at least 14 nights.

All inbound passengers and aircrew members are required to submit a deep- throat saliva (DTS) specimen on arrival, so passengers and crew are advised to avoid eating and drinking two hours before landing.

Operators are encouraged to make their passengers aware of the Hong Kong government’s “LeaveHomeSafe” COVID-19 exposure notification mobile App as it encourages the public to keep a more precise record of their whereabouts and minimize the risk of virus transmission.

Any traveler arriving in Hong Kong from any of the high-risk countries or has stayed in any of these countries during the 14 days before their arrival in Hong Kong is required to provide additional documentation.
