Rugby World Cup 2023 France: The Rugby World Cup 2023 is underway in France.

Over the next six weeks, 20 teams from the North and South hemispheres will battle it out to reach the final at the Stade de France on Saturday, October 28.

The tournament is likely to generate air traffic exceeding the receiving capacities of Paris-Le Bourget airport and special measures have been taken to mitigate the congestion.

Here is what operators need to know about private flights to Le Bourget for the Rugby World Cup 2023 France.

Le Bourget Airport

  • IATA: LBG
  • ICAO: LFPB
  • N 48° 58.2′ E 02° 26.5′
  • Mag Var: 2.0°W
  • Elevation: 220′
  • Fuel: Jet A-1

Operational information

  • There is high risk of saturation of parking areas and runway capacities at Paris-Le Bourget until October 29
  • No coordination required for helicopters; VFR aircraft require PPR
  • Slots will be coordinated until October 29
  • The coordination parameters to be used for allotment of time slot are published and can be consulted on the COHOR coordinator’s website here
  • The use of handling assistance is mandatory
  • Apart from State flights, emergency landings and medical flights, all aircraft movements will be allocated a time slot
  • The allocated time slots, including an authorization number and a movement time possibly different from the requested time, will be notified through the ground handling agent
  • Flight plan filing procedure requires obtaining an authorization number
  • The following format must be used to indicate the authorization number assigned by the coordinator in field 18 of the flight plan: RMK/ASL followed directly by the 14-character authorization number, the first 4 of which are the ICAO code of the airport for which the slot has been issued: RMK/ASL (14 CHARACTER AIRPORT SLOT ID).
  • For all operators entering the scope of coordination, flight plans filed without time slots or with a time different from that given by the coordinator will generate a notification message to the entity who filed the flight plan.
  • A copy of this message is addressed to the airport operator and the ATC services of LFPB airport
