The 5th Civil Aviation South East Asia Summit 2021 (CASEA 2021) gets underway on August 25 in Bangkok with a theme of preparing for future industry growth.

Southeast Asia has one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets with huge potential for rapid growth now that countries are emerging from pandemic travel restrictions.

Almost all of the 10 countries that comprise ASEAN have been experiencing major economic growth in recent years, leading to a surge in air travel demand.

According to the CAPA Fleet Database, there are currently about 1,600 active aircraft and 1,600 orders from Southeast Asian airlines and operators, and about three-quarters (1,200) of these are from LCCs.

Southeast Asian passenger traffic has grown by more than 9 percent since 2010, with intra-Southeast Asian traffic projected to increase by 7.7 percent over the next 20 years.

The summit will bring regional stakeholders and operators together to share insight into their burgeoning aviation market, discuss trends and opportunities, and hear expert technical overviews and market forecasts.

CASEA 2021 will run until August 26, click here for more information.
